I built this table first sometime around 1987 as a solid wood piece. Little did I know that I would build 3 or 4 more wood versions and then several more in bronze. I included this table in a show that really perplexed the gallery owner. During the two weeks the show ran, a man came in everyday and just sat on the floor looking at the table straight on for an hour at a time. We thought for sure it was a 'sale'. There was no sale - he never talked about it. I still wonder what was going through his head.
